Associated Conditions

Adrenals and Thyroid Disease

Location of the adrenal glands The adrenals sit just above the kidneys and most of us have heard that these are responsible for the "fight or flight" reaction to stress. Briefly, there is a rapid increase of the glucocorticoids, to enable the body to cope. It is the failure of this mechanism to work properly, in the presence of general stress, or the stress of illness, that we are concerned with in the use of replacement cortisone therapy.

Candida Albicans and Thyroid Disease

Electron microscope image of Candida albicans Candida is an endemic, silent destroyer, because wherever the immune system is compromised, candida will rear it’s ugly head. Candida is a fungus, which has a relatively innocuous resting state, and a really nasty active state, where it bores its way into and through tissues in order to reproduce its evil self.

Depression and Thyroid Disease

Poor thyroid function can cause depression Depression causes untold misery and destroys lives. Perhaps one in five people will suffer from it sometime in their lives. Before having a look at thyroid deficiency and its link to depression, we should learn a bit about it, and how it is caused and why.

Fluoridation and the Thyroid Gland

Fluorides and thyroid glands don't mix Fluorides are dangerous in general and in particular highly damaging to the thyroid gland. Experts are concerned that in concentrations as low as one part per million (1ppm), fluorides damage the thyroid system on four major levels.
