TPA-UK sent information about the prescribing
of Armour Thyroid to USP together with a copy
of letter from Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
to 763 NHS endocrinologists, the British Thyroid Association, the British
Thyroid Foundation, the Society for Endocrinology, the Royal Society for
General Practitioners and other thyroid organisations.
August 2004:
TPA-UK sent a letter with a copy of the
letter from Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
to 335 Primary Care Trusts.
October 2004:
Sheila Turner compiled some background
information about natural desiccated porcine thyroid extract available
for everybody.
November 2004:
TPA-UK obtained evidence from
the monograph on Armour Thyroid about the batch-to-batch
stability of T4 and T3, which is standardised to the specifications
laid down by the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP). Some medical practitioners
deny that T4 and T3 is stabilised. Attached to this statement is a summary
of the assay results regarding Armour Thyroid to USP. Doctors may also
