The National Pure Water Association (NPWA) has printed 'yellow cards' which members and supporters can send to their water company. However, the legal advice from NPWA is that one should not refuse to pay all the water bill, but only a part, to offset the cost of replacing harmful fluoridated water with a safe substitute. NPWA say that they know of at least two people living in already fluoridated areas who are putting this into practice. The water companies have threatened to take them to court but have not yet done so. NPWA do make a modest charge for the cards, to offset their costs and make it possible to have more printed as their stocks run out. Currently the price is £1 for 25 and £3 for 100. The charge is expected to rise with the next printing because it no longer covers increased postage costs.
NPWA also have leaflets "Say No to Fluoridation" which outline some of the arguments against fluoridation and invite people to join NPWA. These leaflets are £1 for 20 and £5 for 100. NPWA usually present the leaflets and cards together and they speak to the recipients so that they realise the threat of poisoning of their water and the possibility of court action if they do act on the threat on the card. However, for people in a non-fluoridated area this is, for the present, just a means of alerting water companies to the opposition. Attached are copies of the wording on the 'yellow cards'. There is a meeting at The Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester on Tuesday 26th Feb at 7.0 for 7.30pm for people opposed to fluoridation of Greater Manchester.
