LoreIn May 2005, UnLtd Millennium Awards granted Thyroid Patient Advocate
Sheila Turner (founder member of TPA-UK) a Level 1 Award to help her promote
and disseminate information throughout the NHS and the public at large,
in order to bring to the attention of medical practitioners and hypothyroid
sufferers the need for improved diagnostic practice and choices of treatment.
The Millennium Commission is the only distributor of lottery funds to good causes who some time ago decided to provide awards to individuals. Level 1 Awards are designed to help make new ideas become real projects. UnLtd gives out 1,000 Level 1 Awards each year across the UK.
UnLtd supports dynamic, creative people who want to make a difference to their communities.

The Medical Advisory Service is a charity set up by nurses in 1986. We
run helplines, operated by specially trained nurses - able to advise on
many aspects of health/patient care.
If you or your potential customers have an anxiety or query a health care issue, MAS can guide callers in the right direction to obtain the care/help they might need. We do not offer a "telephone diagnosis" but we can give sound, practical and helpful advice. Treatments and medicines available in the NHS are growing and developing at a fast rate. MAS helps callers to find their way through the system.
